Tenerife, a jewel of the Canary Islands, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes both above and below the surface. To preserve the beauty of its underwater realms, FlowState Divers has launched an ambitious initiative — the Monthly Cleanup Challenge. This dive-centric event, taking place every last Sunday of the month, aims to not only beautify the ocean floor but also foster a sense of responsibility among certified divers. Join us as we delve into the depths of this exciting journey.
The Inaugural Dive in Los Abrigos
The journey began with a splash, quite literally, as the inaugural cleanup dive took place in the vibrant waters of Los Abrigos. A team of passionate divers, consisting of three skilled individuals from FlowState Divers and four equally dedicated divers from Thalassa Buceo, descended into the deep with a shared mission – to rid the ocean of its burdens.
The collective efforts of this dynamic team yielded remarkable results. Nearly 40 kilograms of debris were meticulously collected, ranging from tires and fishing lines to clothing, plastic bottles, bags, and even discarded shoes. The tangible impact of the cleanup was awe-inspiring, showcasing what a dedicated group of individuals can achieve when working towards a common goal.
Monthly Series Across Tenerife
The cleanup initiative doesn't conclude with a single dive. FlowState Divers has mapped out an entire series, featuring different amazing locations across Tenerife each month. From the colourful reefs of Alcala to the mystical depths of Radazul, each dive promises a unique experience and an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our marine ecosystems.
In a compelling call to action, FlowState Divers invites certified divers to be part of this environmental movement. The next cleanup dive awaits, and here's the kicker — cylinders are on the house, courtesy of FlowState Divers. This is a golden opportunity to explore the depths of the ocean, connect with like-minded individuals, and make waves for a cleaner, greener planet.
The Monthly Cleanup Challenge is not just an event; it's a movement. It's a chance to be part of something bigger, to dive into a cause that transcends individual interests. Imagine the satisfaction of knowing that your underwater escapades are contributing to the well-being of the oceans and marine life.
