Welcome to the second day of our Sidemount Workshop in Tenerife. Today's dive session is specifically designed to refine propulsion techniques and gradually introduce the student to an array of new skills. These include mastering the art of swimming with a single tank while adeptly removing the other, seamlessly transitioning to a backup mask, practising the essential S-drill, and skillfully deploying and securing a DSMB (Delayed Surface Marker Buoy), among other invaluable techniques.
What makes this experience truly remarkable is witnessing the progress of our student, especially considering that this is only the second time she has ventured into the water with this particular configuration. Using a static control line as a point of reference is an absolute game-changer, propelling their learning curve and enhancing their overall development throughout the training process.
Our training unfolds at a depth of approximately 7 metres, within the confines of El Balito, one of our cherished dive sites that never fails to impress. The tranquil underwater environment offers the ideal backdrop for honing skills and immersing oneself in the captivating beauty of the surroundings.
